Shriner's Barrel Toothpick Holder
This is one of the oldest moulds, that we purchased from the
Westmoreland Glass Company. When we purchased this mould I don't
think we new what we had. We were told that the Westmoreland Glass
Company had made all the Shriners items between 1904 and 1906. We
have seen many of the shriners pieces at local shows and flea markets.
If any of you want to see detailed moulds just look for the Shriners
pieces from this period, you won't believe it. They are beautiful!
The Shriners Barrel Toothpick Holder is Shaped like a barrel. On
the Barrel is the Shriners Emblem, along with the names of Pittsburgh
and it is Dated 1905. On the reverse side are four names which
must be the names of the officers at the time and right underneath is
the name Niagara Falls. The Pittsburgh Chapter must have held
their convention in Niagara Falls and this was the souvenir for the
year.
When you get this toothpick take a good look at the fine details on this
mould. If you take this in the light you can actually see the wood
grain in the wood.
