"ORIGINAL WESTMORELAND MOULD"

This covered animal dish was made using an Original Westmoreland Glass Company Mould. Which began production in 1889. This same chicken was produced by many companies in various styles. This Covered Chicken is also known in the glass collecting world as a Split Tail Chicken on a Woven Nest. This covered animal dish along with many others were packaged with mustard and condiments and then sold. Today this Covered Chicken is our #1 Selling Covered Animal Dish. These were spotted in a Country Magazine and used as Covered Soup Bowls. The bottom is signed WG on the Bottom. The Top & Bottom are signed with a W encircled with the word Westmoreland. 	Markings History
	Pre-1960's - No Markings 1960 to 1982 they were signed with a WG 1984 Markings - Bottom is signed WG on the bottom. Then the top and bottoms are signed with a W encircled with the word Westmoreland. Only 2 Westmoreland Colors of Chicken were signed this way 1982-1984 they were the Ruby Mother of Pearl, and the Black Mother of Pearl.
